In this week's video, I am going to go on a deep dive into the Trusted Housesitters Premium Membership. I will start by explaining briefly what Trusted Housesitters is and how it works. Then I will talk about the different types of membership that you can choose on the platform: the basic, the standard, and the premium membership. There are 3 membership tiers for both pet sitters and pet parents on the site. Each membership is good for 1 full year during which you can use THS as much or as little as you like - the cost is the same whether or not you use the site for 1 day or 100 days of the year. The premium membership offers three main perks over the standard membership: airport lounge passes, premium badge on your profile, and a sit cancellation plan. I will explain each of these in detail, talk about the dollar value behind each of them, and explain what situations each of these applies in. The airport lounge passes give you 2 free passes per year at over 600 different lounges in 350+ airports worldwide. You must provide THS with your travel plans in advance, so they can book these tickets for you. The premium badge means that it will say on your profile that you are a premium member. This will be visible to other members. This could potentially be used to your advantage when interviewing and applying for sits. The sit cancellation plan works similar to insurance and comes in to play if someone unexpectedly cancels a sit on you at the last minute. The plan covers up to 30 nights a year, up to $150 per night, and up to a total cost of $1500. There are other rules around how you can use this plan, which I will go through in depth in the video. Towards the end of the video, I will tell you my own personal story with a housesit getting canceled halfway through.
