2019 Triumph Street Twin | First Ride Review

The modern Triumph Bonneville range by any measure has to be considered something of a success story, and the most successful bike in that range is the Street Twin. With such a winning formula the first time round it wasn't an easy task to improve their already very popular machine. Understandably they've played it safe and given the bike less of an overhaul and more of a refinement. The community asked for better brakes, and better suspension and that's exactly what they've provided. They've also improved the finish slightly around the dash and given it more power. It certainly isn't a dramatic reimagining of the Street Twin but the improvements make it an obvious decision between the new and the old if you're looking for a second hand one. Would I upgrade to this if I already owned the outgoing model? Probably not in all honesty. Whilst the new braking setup is a draw, everything else on it feels largely the same and if you already have a Street Twin i'm guessing it's customised in some way, so I'd keep the bike you have a personal bond with over the younger, sexier model.
