Hello. Today, I would like to talk about the evaluation process. Since the daycare center evaluation became mandatory on June 12, 2019, most daycare centers have completed their evaluations. On the day of the on-site inspection, the evaluator visits the daycare center to conduct the assessment using various methods, including observation, interviews, and documentation. Observation involves monitoring the childcare environment, curriculum, and interactions, and covers the daily routine from arrival to departure. Interviews are conducted with the director and teachers to verify the implementation of evaluation indicators and related details. Documents are reviewed to check the relevant records (documents) required to confirm the implementation and content of evaluation indicators. Among these, interviews can be conducted with all teachers, and since you could also be a subject of an interview, you must be prepared. I have compiled a list of frequently asked questions based on actual interviews with directors, teachers, and graduates from public, private, and home-based daycare centers who participated in this year's evaluation. It seems likely that the on-site evaluator will ask at least these questions during the interview. Directors and teachers preparing for the evaluation will find it helpful to write down the answers to this list of questions.
