TONY ALVA 1976 skateboarder of the year and world champion from DogTown

This is a very rare clip of the one and only original Tony "Mad Dog" Alva as he appeared on network television in 1976 on " ABC's Wide World of Sports. Although he is declared the "Overall Mens World Champion" in this clip he ultimately is not too successful in his race with slalom king Henry Hester, but the old footage is just so classic of the time it deserves to be seen by all of those interested at all in the real DogTown story, early skateboarding history, or Tony Alva.
