The Language of Yeshua and the Jewish Context of the Messianic Movement The central thesis of this lecture is: Yeshua and his first disciples were Jews, lived within the Judaism of the Second Temple, spoke Aramaic as their primary language, and secondarily Hebrew. The initial movement did not arise as a new religion, but as a Jewish Messianic movement.
