Mamo McDonald (Activist, Honorary President of the ICA, Feminist, Heroine) joined us for State of the Nation at the Pepper Canister Church in September 2013. Mamo has been working on ageing issues since 1987 when she chaired Ireland's first national day on ageing, an initiative that led to the setting up of Age & Opportunity. At age 70, Mamo began to attend UCD and she obtained an MA in Women's Studies in 2002. A long-time member of the Irish Countrywomen's Association, Mamo became well-known for her leadership.
