Einfach Dein Kiez - Folge 16: Bayerisches Viertel (Schöneberg/Wilmersdorf)

The Bavarian Quarter (Bayerisches Viertel) between the Schöneberg City Hall and the notorious KaDeWe looks back on an eventful history. The deportation of thousands of Jews led to unspeakable suffering. More than half of the neighborhood was destroyed during the war. John F. Kennedy held his world-famous speech here in front of the town hall in 1963. Today the neighbourhood, which belongs to both Schöneberg and Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, is considered one of the most colorful and tolerant in the entire capital. Follow Robert Hofmann on an exciting tour through the streets of West Berlin and get to know the Bavarian Quarter’s most beautiful spots as well as its interesting inhabitants and passionate founders. 00:00 – Intro 00:21 – The Bavarian Quarter’s history 01:05 – Scooterhelden Berlin – Passion e-mobility 04:08 – Tour through the „Kiez” (Neighborhood) 05:26 – „Buchladen am Bayerischen Platz“ – On Einstein’s tracks 09:09 – The Hummus Guys – sustainable chickpea pastes from West Berlin Discover all episodes of #EinfachDeinKiez: https://cutt.ly/EinfachDeinKiez_Playlist Never miss out on any of our videos again.
