All you need is your WiFi extender, and you also need to know the WiFi network name and password that your router is broadcasting. With this information in hand, you first need to plug your WiFi extender into an outlet that is located close to your router. Once you plug in your extender, it will go through the initial startup process. When the lights on the device are steady and not blinking (after a few minutes), you’ll be able to access its settings to complete the configuration. You can complete these configuration steps using WiFi Protected Setup (WPS), a mobile application, or a mobile device that can access the internet (e.g. phone, laptop, tablet). Using one of these options, you need to access your router’s settings. After accessing your extender’s settings, you’ll be prompted to complete the configuration of your device. After completing the setup of your device (and it reboots), you can plug your extender into an outlet that is closer to the deadspot in your home that you want to provide WiFi access to. Just keep in mind that the extender needs to be plugged into an outlet that still receives a good WiFi signal from your router, otherwise you’ll get extremely poor internet performance when connecting to it.
