The government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is attempting a final meeting with representatives of the United States (USA) to avoid the application of a "tariff hike" against Brazil. The Americans must decide whether or not to apply the measure by next Wednesday (15), based on an investigation of the so-called "section 301".
