Unforgettable Shelling on Captiva Island at Tween Waters Resort 🐚🌊 We visited Captiva Island for the first time, and WOW, we were not disappointed by the incredible shelling opportunities! Although the island is still recovering from Hurricane Ian (2022), we didn’t miss anything, as it was our first time here. There were some businesses still rebuilding, but the island’s natural beauty was undeniable. We stayed at Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa, a perfect spot for a peaceful beach retreat. We were lucky to arrive a day early, and the staff accommodated us in an oceanfront room with a small kitchen and private balcony. The highlight of our stay was moving into the Osprey 119 Cottage, an oceanfront two-bedroom, two-bath cottage with a full kitchen, living room, and direct parking. The private beach access and water faucet for washing shells made it even more convenient! Each morning, I was out shelling by 6 AM, using a flashlight to gather as many beautiful shells as I could find—by 8 AM, I was carrying a heavy bag of treasures! The quiet mornings meant I had the beach almost all to myself, and I spent two days collecting shells that I’ll cherish forever.
