The Fairy Kingdom is riddled with all kinds of tricks and traps our heroes will have to deal with: transparent pipes to slide through, balls to throw at enemies, and moving trains to ride on. In some places, it's even necessary to climb the walls like cats! With four-player local multiplayer and dedicated Wii U GamePad controls, SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD is a brand-new adventure, exclusively for Wii U! The catalog of items (and special abilities) keeps growing! Along with the classic Tanooki Mario and Boomerang Mario, there are new abilities: a Super Bell will turn Mario into a scratching and climbing cat! A cannon box on his head lets you launch projectiles, and collecting Duplicate Cherries will spawn a clone that comes in handy for double attacks. But don't think Mario is alone in this adventure! Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad are also along for the ride, each with their own unique characteristics and abilities. Mario is the most balanced character, while Luigi can jump the highest, Princess Peach can hover in the air, and Toad is the fastest on the ground. Choose your favorite character and use their abilities to explore every corner of each level. Up to four people can play simultaneously in SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD's local multiplayer mode: they can work together to complete a level or compete for the most points.
