MUNICIPIO DE SOPETRAN LA CAPITAL DE LAS FRUTAS

In the middle of the mountains of Western Antioquia and on the banks of the Cauca River lies the municipality of Sopetrán. Just 45 kilometers from the city of Medellín. An hour's drive from Medellín and only 15 minutes from Santa Fe de Antioquia lies the so-called Fruit Capital. With a climate of about 26 degrees, it's ideal for visiting its tributaries, enjoying a swim, and making a three-phase sancocho. The paintings inside the Minor Basilica of the Annunciation are another reason to visit; a relaxing journey through Jesus' earthly life is a welcome sight.
