Her killer James Oliver Unick lived as a free man for 44 years until DNA from a discarded cigarette finally linked him to the crime. He was arrested in July 2024 and convicted on February 13th 2026 — what would have been Sarah’s 57th birthday. He will spend the rest of his life in prison.
