How to Improve Your Mix with High Pass Filters
If I had to choose only one plugin to mix with, it would be an EQ with a high-pass filter. The High-Pass (low cut) filter is one of the best tools out there for reducing mud and helping with presence. When used INTELLIGENTLY and with INTENTION it can help your mixes improve dramatically. Simply rolling off unwanted frequencies with this type of equalizer can add clarity you never had before. Here's a video example of how I might use this tool somewhat liberally in a mix!
