Chorégies d'Orange 2026 — A season of transition France's oldest lyric festival, the Chorégies d'Orange have made music resound since 1869 in the exceptional setting of the Ancient Theatre of Orange, a 2,000-year-old Roman monument listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For 2026, the festival begins a transition with a tighter programme of 6 evenings, marked by the departure of Jean-Louis Grinda after 9 years of direction and the adoption of a new EPCC status. Concert version In 2026, the Chorégies d'Orange festival will present a single opera performance at the Théâtre Antique d'Orange: Verdi's La Traviata in a concert version on a single date (4 July 2026). The evening's performance will feature a stellar cast led by Nadine Sierra in the title role, alongside Javier Camarena as Alfredo and Ludovic Tézier as Father Germont. Conductor Paolo Arrivabeni will lead the Marseille Philharmonic Orchestra and the Lyon National Opera Choir.
