The Moray Ruins of Peru is one of the most fascinating places in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Moray is close to Urubamba, the perfect day trip, and one of the best places to visit from the town of Maras (also visit the Maras Salt Mines). The Moray ruins may have acted as an Inca science experiment. the rings at Moray are relatively simple but may have actually been an ingenious series of testbeds. The terraces at Moray contain soil that must have been imported from other parts of the region. The temperature at the top of the pits varies from the bottom by as much as 15 degrees, creating a series of micro-climates.
