มหัศจรรย์ลมย้ายเกาะกลางหนองหาร ไหลเข้าติดเมืองสกลนคร
Residents of Sakon Nakhon Province were thrilled when a large island, normally floating in the middle of Nong Han Lake, covering an area of over 10 rai, moved to a public park near Sakon Nakhon City. This unprecedented phenomenon, attached to the island, is home to a massive flock of waterbirds nesting on the floating island. Nong Han Lake, Sakon Nakhon Province, is the largest freshwater marsh in the Northeast, covering an area of over 77,000 rai. It consists of over 52 islands, large and small, as well as floating islands. The floating barrier is formed by the accumulation of weeds. These roots trap sediment carried by the water, eventually forming a layer of aquatic plants on the surface. People can comfortably stand and walk on the floating islands. Currently, there are over 10 floating islands in Nong Han Lake, ranging in size from 1 to 10 rai. These islands are a breeding ground for aquatic animals and a habitat for a variety of birds. They are also a warm home to rare wildlife such as leopard cats, fishing cats, and even freshwater otters. Every year during the monsoon season, small islands are swept away by the wind, moving between the various islands. But this year, on the night of September 12th, a strong storm blew over the largest island in Nong Han, which is normally located about 3 kilometers from shore, and swept over to Koh Don Langka, a public park adjacent to Sakon Nakhon city. This floating island is a warm home to a variety of birds. It is estimated that over 50 species live on it. Observations revealed families of openbills, egrets, cormorants, and ruddy ducks. Most exciting for birdwatchers was the discovery of a nest of a Black-ringed Woodpecker, another rare bird species in Thailand. Previously thought to be migratory and only found in Nong Han during the winter, this bird was found nesting on the floating island. This demonstrates that the ecosystem of the Nong Han wetland area has once again reached its peak of abundance. People and tourists can now observe the beauty of these birds up close with the naked eye. No need for magnifying glass or binoculars, you can now get up close and personal with nature. You can even gaze at a variety of birds, which is truly heartwarming. It's easy to get to experience the warmth of nature. Koh Don Langka is just two kilometers from the city. We'd better hurry before the cold winds blow this floating island back into the middle of Nong Han Lake.
