Before Nelly Furtado conquered the world with her hit "I'm Like a Bird" in 2000, she was a child of Portuguese immigrants who spent summers helping her mother clean a motel. Her story is one of hard work, talent spotted in the church choir, and a courageous decision to move to Toronto. It was there, at a festival, that producer Gerald Eaton spotted her, opening the door to a successful career and a contract with DreamWorks Records. Her debut album, "Whoa, Nelly!", garnered her Grammy Awards, but it was her collaboration with Timbaland on the 2006 album "Loose" that catapulted her to the top. Hits like "Promiscuous" and "Maneater" defined a new, bolder version of the artist, but they also brought controversy and immense fatigue, leading to her breakdown on stage. Her career has been a whirlwind – from the artistic explorations of the album "Folklore," through the success of the Spanish-language "Mi Plan," to the commercial flop "The Spirit Indestructible." After years spent focusing on motherhood and releasing music on her own, independent terms, Nelly has returned. Collaborations with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake in 2023 rekindled fans' appetites, and the album "7," released in September 2024, confirmed her excellent form. Most importantly, tomorrow (August 14th), the artist returns to Poland after 17 years and will perform at the BitterSweet Festival in Poznań!
