Campobello di Licata: Successo per la Rietina 2025, 288 anni di storia e di Sicilia

The Rietina 2025 in Campobello di Licata was a success, marking the Feast of Our Lady of Help. Approximately 30,000 people crowded Campobello to watch the parade of beautifully decorated Sicilian carts and horses through the town streets, accompanied by folk groups. At the end, an auction was held to win the Bannera (the Madonna's flag). The auction is open to all who have made a promise to Our Lady. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Mother Church of Campobello di Licata. Entertainment, folklore, and charity abounded. Approximately 60 horses and carts from all over Sicily were present, with the regional government, including Edy Tamaio, Councilor for Productive Activities. Mayor Vito Terrana requested that the Rietina di Campobello be included in the circuit of Sicilian regional festivals and be inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Also present was Giuseppe Pendolino, President of the Agrigento Free Municipal Consortium.
