Increíblemente Hermosa - TIFLIS, la Capital de GEORGIA
Georgian people are a very festive people. A holiday in Georgia is a vivid event full of cultural pride, where traditions are intertwined with joy. Georgia celebrates several important holidays, but one of the most notable is Independence Day, which commemorates the proclamation of independence of the Democratic Republic of Georgia in 1918. Early in the morning, the streets of Tbilisi, the capital, and other cities such as Kutaisi and Batumi, are filled with Georgian flags waving from buildings, balconies and cars. Georgians wake up with an air of national pride, wearing patriotic colours: red and white, the shades of the national flag. The essence of Georgia is expressed on the streets through cultural performances. Traditional dance groups, dressed in colourful costumes, perform exciting choreographies to the rhythm of the "panduri" and "doli" (traditional instruments). Georgian polyphonic songs, which are a World Heritage Site, resonate in lively squares. Open-air markets and fairs are a key element of the day where families exude curiosity. Local artisans display products such as pottery, embroidery, jewelry and woodcarvings. Families enjoy the day in parks and public spaces. Children participate in activities such as painting flags, flying kites or watching puppet shows. In coastal cities such as Batumi, seafront promenades fill with tourists and locals enjoying the warm weather. Amid the festivities, there are also moments of reflection. Many visit monuments and cemeteries to pay tribute to national heroes who fought for independence. These acts are imbued with solemnity and respect, remembering the price of freedom. Food is essential to any Georgian celebration. Families and friends gather for a “supra” (traditional banquet), led by a “tamada” (master of ceremonies) who proposes toasts full of poetry and meaning. Wine flows freely, reinforcing the hospitality that characterizes the Georgian people. When night falls, the skies light up with fireworks that fill the main cities with color. In Tbilisi, the Bridge of Peace and Narikala Fortress become magical settings under the lights of the pyrotechnic show. Modern and traditional music accompanies the celebrations until late at night. Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, is a fascinating city that combines history, culture and modernity. Located on the banks of the Kura River, it is surrounded by hills and mountains, giving it a picturesque landscape. Founded in the 5th century, Tbilisi has been an important strategic and cultural point throughout history due to its location on the Silk Road. Its architecture reflects this diversity, combining medieval churches, fortresses, wooden balcony houses and Soviet-style buildings with contemporary skyscrapers. Tbilisi is the cultural heart of Georgia. It is known for its vibrant arts scene, with galleries, theatres and museums celebrating both the past and present. Its gastronomy is an unmissable experience: the "khinkali" (stuffed dumplings), the "khachapuri", cheese-filled bread and the world-famous Georgian wine are a must. The city has a humid subtropical climate, with warm summers and moderate winters. In summer, temperatures are usually around 30 °C, while in winter they drop to about 2-5 °C. The best times to visit are spring and autumn, when the weather is milder and the natural landscapes are at their best. #OpenYourWindowToTheWorld #TravelingIsHyperliving 🌎 Subtitles in Portuguese, Italian, German, French, Russian and English. 🔎 I am Gustavo Llusá, Argentine, after traveling for several years through more than 75 countries, I settled in Latvia where I married Dace and learned to know another way of life, on the other side of the map.
