But in Assam, and in countless homes across India, this song was not heard as a love song — it was mourned as an elegy. The reason? When news broke of the death of one of Assam’s biggest icons, Zubeen Garg, everyone remembered that moment from 2019 in Guwahati — when during a concert, Zubeen himself had said, "The day I am gone, remember me with this song." Yet, what fills the hearts of people now is not just grief, but anger — anger over the mysterious circumstances of his death and the questionable investigation that followed. Zubeen’s death on September 19, 2025, was first called an accident, then a conspiracy — and now, several more layers of that conspiracy have begun to unfold. In this episode, we’ll peel back those layers — to understand who Zubeen Garg truly was for Assam, what exactly happened in Singapore on September 19, 2025, and who might be obstructing the investigation.
