CAVALEX Batch 1&2 ACCURASCALE Batch 1 & HORNBY Upgraded CLASS 60 Models Compared In 2025 | ml80

3 MANUFACTURES GOING HEAD2HEAD TO TUG OUR OO GAUGE PURSE STRINGS ALL AT ONCE BUT, WHICH ONE SHOULD I GO FOR IN LATE SUMMER 2025 & WHY? I’ve collated a full 58 point checklist and more, as I’ve read forums, seen reviews and watched the promos. IMPORTANT Some Checkbox changes since the making of this video... 1. Horns looking apparently less detailed on some Cavalex Model Variations are due to fitted Snow Shields as on prototypes being replicated as such. This adds another Point onto The Cavalex Model. 2. There are no Bogie Chains fitted on any Class 60 models as these were not on the prototypes either. This changes the score down by one on my Modeloco Checklist for Accurascale Features. 3. The Exclusive Cavalex Pivoting Link Coupler is actually functional too & not just for show (will clarify what functioning actually means in due course. Just all unlinking parts or will it actually haul, doubt it). 4. My holding back on not ticking the Pulling Power checkbox was due to concerns over the slightly lighter weight & floating axles. Had also heard reports that The Cavalex 56 was not good on inclines, having the same wheel configuration to cure the see saw effect derailments seen on some previously reported Accurascale models but, as yet have not seen this reported on the all wheel drive Hornby Class 60's that have really been applauded for running? I'm assured the new Cavalex Class 60 will have great prototypical pulling power too. 5. Moulded, not separately fitted door handrails error. I'm assured the Cavalex Class 60 does have fitted handrails but, had noted these apparently do look unconvincingly silver painted, are flat looking & made of quite flimsy nylon, like the older Hornby tooled model. This gleaned from pre-release sample review. 6. Clumped together, Colour or Moulding Issue concerns on other recent models or batches. I have looked at this in terms of the reports regarding both Accurascale & the Cavalex Models with bits falling off, &/or loose buffers & Batch One Snow Ploughs being a tight fit in recessed out, coupling area on The Cavalex 60. 7. Glazing Issues. This refers to the Class 60 Cavalex Pre-release sample review cab door window glazing seemingly blacked out & not prototypical & not present on the others 60's featured here & done to save us seeing the internal components as reported on some Accurascale models but, this thought the cab windows when cab lights are on. The fix being to turn them off is what I'd seen being done about it for Accurascale owners. I'm informed on Cavalex Models of the Class 60 that the column inside is there & painted black to stop this being sort of thing being seen & also, to block out any subsequent Engine Room light bleed & that the glazing is therefore clear, not blacked out. 8. Kinematic Coupling issues on Cavalex are noted on my checklist, not due to the design but, rather the Snow Plough, if fitted, being a too tight a fit & requiring some filing away, of some, of the top moulding so as not to cause an issue on The affected Cavalex models. I'm informed this & the noisy wheel sets/gearing have now been addressed completely on Batch 2 & there are fixes & parts being sent out FOC to any having those issues raised in Point 8. Another Point I've noticed is a Narration & Typo error in my video because Cavalex are on Batch Two & Accurascale will be on Batch One, clearly stated in video description (but, will be on sale when you read this). Will add subtitles to amend & guide others to all this above. PS Hornby don't really use this Batch identity but, you could say I'm looking at their latest Batch here as I decide which & why. Another issue I'm seeing better addressed is by Bachmann on their NEM Socket attached Bogies that move with the Auto-Uncoupler Class 30/31 models. I'm finding these work better than the Kinematic design on reported Hornby Class 60's & my findings with Accurascale's Class 66's. Rails of Sheffield now offer Reward Points! I'm finding all Class 60's on offer here will have good hauling capabilities. Will try add a PDF Print Off of this list once fully checked & added to if needs be. Helping you make an informed choice too because everything retail seems to be going online & actually seeing before you buy is becoming less so unfortunately. For those of us that can't get to shows, aren't linked-in, work weekends or whatever & don't live near a well stocked local retailer, integrity & discernment is paramount.
