In this episode, my parents and I visited the village of Kozlevo (Козлево) in Bulgarian, located in the Benkovski region of Kardzhali. This village, which we had long wanted to see, truly has an impressive atmosphere with its nature and village life. Before reaching the village, we crossed a bridge built entirely by philanthropists and used for access to the mosque, and visited the Bulutlar Mosque, dating back to 1461. There were quite old tombstones in and around the mosque's courtyard. We had seen a similar historical atmosphere before in Karalar Village, the village of the world champion wrestler Koca Yusuf. The river flowing under the bridge was dry at that time. After visiting the mosque, we began exploring the nearby village of Maruflar. At the entrance to the village, we were greeted by Sami, an older gentleman from Istanbul who had built a house there. He had built a truly beautiful house. Since the village is situated on a hill, we climbed upwards along the slopes. As we walked through the village streets, we continued chatting with the villagers. The warm welcome and the cozy atmosphere of village life made this trip even more special. We slowly made our way to the highest point of the village, the hill where the village mosque is located. There we met an elderly gentleman, chatted with him, and created beautiful memories. This part ends here. However, in the second part, we will explore the garden of this gentleman and taste a special village drink made with 15 different herbs that they prepared for us.
