The recommendations in this video still hold true, but with some changes provided below. Shinjuku is a major district in Tokyo, serving as a bustling transportation hub with buses and trains connecting you to various parts of the city and beyond. The area is also packed with numerous restaurants, bars, and vibrant nightlife venues, particularly in the Kabukicho area. Disclaimer: I haven’t stayed at every hotel in this video, but I always do extensive research—reading dozens (sometimes hundreds!) of recent guest reviews, comparing facilities, and checking up-to-date info before making any recommendation. As mentioned in the video, as a red-light district, Kabukicho is not ideal for families, I recommend staying in Shibuya, Ginza, or Tokyo Station instead. If you prefer Shinjuku, consider booking a property on the west side of the station for a better experience. 2. Many Japanese hotels have adopted policies to reduce plastic use. As a result, amenities like toothbrushes may not be provided in the room. Instead, you can pick them up at the amenity bar, typically located near the front desk. 3. Not all hotels in Shinjuku offer only non-smoking rooms. It’s important to carefully check room types before booking through Expedia or Agoda, or to inform the hotel of your preference in advance. Otherwise, you might end up in a smoking room. 4. For smokers, use only designated smoking areas and avoid smoking in non-smoking rooms. Violating this policy can result in a substantial fee. Our Criteria for the list: Available for booking on multiple platforms Located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan Prime Location (Close to the train station or key attractions) Receive excellent review scores (at least 80%) on all booking platforms Sufficiently spacious for 2 guests. All rooms must be air-conditioned. Facilities must be sufficient for guests to stay with comfort. No cleanliness or service issues My personal experience with the accommodation (if any) must be positive.
