The United States will begin a naval blockade on Tuesday (14), at 5 pm Brasília time, to prevent the passage of vessels linked to Iran. The operation begins a day after President Donald Trump stated that he intends to take control of the Strait of Hormuz, classifying the US as the "guardians" of the maritime route and advocating for a 20% tax on cargo transported through the strait. During the conflict, American military ships had already blocked the entry of Iranian vessels into the region with the aim of preventing the transport of products linked to Iran and putting pressure on the country's economy, in response to the closure of the passage through Tehran.
