XFPP NXL MAM Layout Scrimmage: X-Factor, Aftershock, Notorious FSU, Dragoons, Grit, And Friends

NXL Mid Atlantic Major tournament preparation scrimmage at X-Factor Paintball Park in San Antonio, Texas. This video was shot June 15-16th and features footage of both professional and amateur paintball teams practicing the just-released tournament layout. Saturday on Field 1 the D4 Dragoons play up to take on a newly-energized D3 Grit squad while on Field 2 X-Factor, FSU, and Aftershock duke it out on a modified version of the tournament layout. On Sunday field 2 is corrected to the 2024 MAO tournament layout as the pros continue to sharpen their gameplay and field 1 sees a host of other lower-divisional teams along with the new walk-on gang getting their spins on the map. This is the first 4k feature I shot with the new Canon broadcast power-zoom lens. I adapt the lens from B4 Flange to Micro 4/3 using a Fotodiox optically corrected adapter and mount it to my Z-Cam E2-M4. This is not the usual camera I shoot paintball on but I have been experimenting with shooting high framerate more and the E2-M4 can shoot as high as 150fps. I thought the rolling shutter would make a shoulder rig of this camera undesirable but surprisingly there are very few shots where it is noticable. The lens however is certainly not optimized for a 4K cinema camera and the optical correction element does create some distortion of the image at the higher end of the focal lengths but I honestly think it looks kind of sick.
