Profi baut 2 Jahre! Setra Bus wird STEALTH Wohnmobil 😱 Innenstadt 5* Camping auf Busparkplätzen
Seen at Steitz GmbH, 64521 Gross Gerau, Sankt Florianstraße 6 Bosch Service Motorhome / Automotive Technology 06152 99 20 60 Jürgen Steitz Today we're taking a look at one of the most extraordinary vehicles at the entire Concorde Ascension Day Meeting. And this vehicle isn't a classic motorhome, a standard liner, or even a standard production vehicle. Before us stands a completely custom-converted Setra coach, a gigantic 10.50 meters long, built as a luxurious motorhome for the ultimate long-distance tour. Together with Jürgen Steitz, we discuss the elaborate conversion, the extensive technology, the massive battery systems, daily life with a former coach, and why this vehicle is practically unrecognizable as a motorhome in regular bus parking lots. Filming took place directly at the 2026 Concorde Meeting, and even from the outside, you immediately notice: This bus looks completely different from classic motorhomes. The original Setra look has been deliberately preserved. That's precisely what makes the Turbo Bus so special. From the outside, it still looks almost like a real coach, and that's precisely what offers enormous advantages when traveling. Many people don't even realize that this is a fully-fledged luxury motorhome. Jürgen explains in the video that the bus can even park in regular bus parking spaces without attracting much attention. The story behind the vehicle is particularly fascinating. The bus was bought used, had relatively low mileage for a coach, and was then completely rebuilt over almost two years. And not just hastily thrown together, but with an incredible attention to detail. Every area was individually customized. Nothing is off-the-shelf. You notice this immediately upon entering the vehicle. Right from the front of the cockpit, you instantly get that typical coach feeling. You sit far forward of the front axle, the bus rides extremely smoothly, and thanks to the incredibly small turning circle, the vehicle feels surprisingly maneuverable despite its size. Anyone who has ever driven a real coach will immediately recognize this special driving experience. Inside, a completely custom-built interior awaits, offering a huge sense of space. The high-quality carpentry, the bold yet extremely elegant upholstery fabrics, and the solid materials are particularly striking. The entire conversion was consistently designed for durability and comfort. This includes, among other things, genuine oak, robust Amtico designer flooring with underfloor heating, high-quality custom-made blinds, and perfectly integrated Mekuwa windows, which were deliberately chosen to preserve the original bus look from the outside as much as possible. The technology inside the vehicle is also particularly impressive. This isn't basic camper van equipment, but rather top-of-the-line professional-grade gear. A massive 2000 amp-hour lithium battery system at 24 volts has been installed, which is equivalent to approximately 4000 amp-hours at 12 volts. In addition, there are two Mastervolt inverters, each with a power output of 3500 watts. The entire vehicle operates like a fully-fledged household on a 230-volt system. In the video, Jürgen also explains in detail the advantages of Steitz's own battery systems, which have been in production for around 15 years and are now extremely popular with many Concorde owners. This bus also takes a completely unique approach to climate control. The split air conditioning units are built and individually configured by Steitz themselves. This makes the system extremely quiet and efficient. Even while driving, the cockpit remains incredibly quiet. There's no wind noise, hardly any engine noise, and a level of driving comfort more reminiscent of a modern coach than a motorhome. In the rear, it finally becomes clear why this vehicle took almost two years to develop. Large seating areas, individual sleeping areas for the children, a solid kitchen unit with a genuine granite countertop, a household-sized refrigerator with a separate freezer compartment, and a huge bathroom make it clear: no compromises were made here. The integrated nano-heating system is particularly fascinating, and Jürgen explains it in detail. The heating system operates extremely efficiently, produces virtually no soot, and achieves astonishingly low exhaust temperatures. This results in hardly any odor, and the entire system can be perfectly integrated into the engine compartment.
