Theme Park History: Blackpool Pleasure Beach Documentary

For the latest edition of our Theme Park History series, we've pulled together the BBC's lost 1998 documentary series 'Pleasure Beach' into a feature length, uninterrupted video. The documentary series followed the staff and guests at Blackpool Pleasure Beach across a busy Summer season, including Park Manager Jim Rowland (AKA JR), his long suffering deputy Keith, and perhaps the icon of the series, daughter of the then Park owner Amanda Thompson. The series has not been shown on television for many years, and this recording of the series was pulled from defunct TV channel UKLiving. We make no claims of ownership, but feel that this is fair to share after being off our screens for so long. This video is for educational purposes only. It's worth noting that the documentary is very 'of its time'. Some of the language used and the themes explored would be considered insensitive today.
