Éxito de público y gran calidad musical en el XXXIV Certamen de Bandas de la Borriquita

RTVMARCHENA PUBLISHES This Sunday saw the 34th edition of the "Sergio Rodríguez Herrera Memorial" Band Competition, organized by the Brotherhood of La Borriquita in Marchena. The event once again drew a large crowd, especially on a weekend blessed with sunshine after weeks of rain. The competition, whose proceeds from the bar go to the Charity Fund of the Palm Sunday Brotherhood, featured performances by the Dulce Nombre de Jesús Musical Group, the Villa de Marchena Band, and the host band, the María Santísima de la Palma Band of Cornets and Drums. The Dulce Nombre de Jesús Musical Group performed several marches, including two original compositions: "Martia Nostra," dedicated to Marchena, and "El Sueño de un Barrio," dedicated to the Brotherhood of Ronda, for whom they play during Holy Week. For their part, Villa de Marchena also performed several marches, including one composed by their new director, Natalia Martín, entitled “Tu Soleá Rosario.” And finally, the host band also performed several pieces, among them the new march composed by their musical director, Rubén Jesús Rey Melero, and dedicated to the Lord of Humility of Marchena, entitled “Y Sentenciaron…al Hijo de Dios” (And They Sentenced…the Son of God). This march, which we leave you with, was previously premiered at a concert given by the María Santísima de la Palma Band in the Chapel of Santa Clara, as it was dedicated to their patron saint.
