Rose Mapendo - Volvo for life Awards Documentary

Rose Mapendo escaped from a Congolese death camp with her children in 1998 after soldiers forced her to listen to the torture and execution of her husband. With the help of human rights activist Sasha Chanoff, she fled to the United States and became the spokesperson for Mapendo International, a nonprofit humanitarian organization that works to rescue and protect other African refugees who have been affected by war and conflict. This short film by fbi productions, profiling her story, premiered at the Fifth Anniversary Volvo for life Awards ceremony in New York in April 2007.
