CHAPTER 202: After the notary scandals and the "Yidispolitics" scandal, the Agro Ingreso Seguro corruption scandal forced President Uribe to dedicate his last community council meeting to defending himself against the numerous accusations made by all media outlets. However, tonight Contravía recalls that six years earlier, at a community council meeting in Sucre, a local mayor denounced what would become the biggest corruption scandal in recent Colombian history, known as "Parapolitics." Contravía recounts how this denunciation cost the life of the courageous mayor of El Roble, Eudaldo Díaz, who denounced to President Uribe himself that paramilitarism and corruption had taken over Sucre. Despite this, he was tortured and killed, while his alleged murderers were rewarded with diplomatic posts abroad. Aired: October 22, 2009
