The Peak District Broke My Bike… Again | Cut Gate

A proper Peak District MTB ride around Cut Gate, until the Amflow power and loose rocks teamed up to snap my derailleur clean off. This one started as a proper Peak District adventure ride around Cut Gate, big views, loose rocks, sketchy lines and the Amflow absolutely eating up the climbs. Unfortunately, history repeated itself. Last time I rode in this area the bike came home broken, and somehow Cut Gate managed to claim another victim. This time the Amflow power, loose rocks and a badly timed hit were enough to snap the derailleur clean off and turn the ride into a very expensive walk/limp home. Still, it’s hard to stay mad at a route this good. Cut Gate is brutal, beautiful and definitely one of those rides that reminds you why mountain biking in the Peaks is equal parts amazing and stupid. Bike: Amflow PL Carbon Location: Cut Gate, Peak District Riding: Rocky, loose, natural MTB trails with a side order of mechanical disaster If you enjoy local MTB rides, e-bike chaos, Peak District trails and watching me slowly bankrupt myself with broken bike parts, stick around.
