1973 Ford Tractor Rebuild — Part 1: Getting it Started

This 1973 Ford 2000 diesel tractor has been sitting on my property in the Arizona elements for who knows how long, I’d say at very least a decade. We bought this property that we call Pipe Dream Ranch 2 years ago and I finally decided to tow this thing back to the shop area and take a gander at it. The paint has faded, all four tires are rotted, and a pack rat has made quite a home for itself under the hood. It’s in nasty shape but would be an awesome tractor if it came back to life. They say these old diesels last forever, so the question is… will it start? or is it just yard art! Pipe Dream Ranch is our 40ac homestead in Cochise County Arizona.
