Not Catching Until I Eat a BARRA….

Barra season is back and so is all the rain. In this episode, we leave the boat behind and put the crocs into sport mode as we head off the beaten track for some land based, runoff barra fishing. this is a cool little spot where the local lake overflows and runs off into the salt and when that happens the barrel that have been living in there make their pilgrimage to the salt to spawn. There was some epic fishing to be had, but you still had to work for it with the fish feeding on tiny bait. Fishing the brand new Samaki C-12 701SM and the new 4” Molix RT paddle flex, rigged weedless with a 4/0 decoy worm hook, custom weighted with decoy lead wire to get a controlled level sink, along with a super slow roll retrieve, was what got all the bites. Feels like it’s been ages since I’ve had a land based session and this is just the right way to get back into it. Let me know if you enjoy the land based videos in the comments and if you guys are interested, I’m keen to do more.. Oh and before you skedaddle, head over and check out micksgonefishing.com for all the merch, and grab yourself one of the best fishing jerseys you’ll ever wear. Enjoy ✌🏼
