It is situated near the French border and is known primarily for its proximity to the Emosson lake (Lac d'Emosson) and the surrounding Mont Blanc region.   The pass is situated within a dramatic alpine landscape, characterized by rugged peaks, glaciers, and reservoirs. It plays a role in connecting areas within the Valais region and providing access to hiking trails and viewpoints. A very key feature close to the col is the Emosson dam, and the old dinosaur tracks that are found in the area. Recorded in 4K HDR, with binaural (stereo) audio.
