Day 2 - Student Pilot Learning How to Hover a Helicopter, Patterns, and Approaches - helicopter

Day 2 - Which consisted of a 0.6hrs on the R44 Clipper which we flew. Although not preferable, it was 2 weeks between the 1st and 2nd lesson. But even at that Jimmy had time to process what took place on the first flight and improve dramatically. We started out reviewing what we had done the previous flight, hovering. Hovering was the main focus for the 2nd flight as well with the introduction of the pickup to a hover, pedal turn, takeoff, traffic pattern, and approach. My theory is that because everything starts and stops at a hover, nothing else really matters until we get that figured out at least to an elementary level of proficiency. We won't stay on one thing until it is perfected, but as we see we are understanding the fundamentals we move on to new things and keep reviewing them each lesson.
