KISS THE BLADE (BRITISH POST-PUNK BAND) - YOUNG SOLDIER (1986) REMASTERED

From the limited Dead Wax Records LP / digital download FINAL SUNRISE by KISS THE BLADE, the British post-punk band which released the sought after THE PARTY'S BEGUN and YOUNG SOLDIER 12" singles. Coming out April 2026. (limited mp3 quality here at youtube) Gloucester based KISS THE BLADE formed in the autumn of 1984 by brothers Andy and Vince Jones together with Oliver Cherer and Barry Phillips. They were infected by a dark post-punk sound, driven by melodic but screeching guitars and the deep, menacing vocals by Barry. In March 1985 they released THE PARTY’S BEGUN 12” and by the end of same month they recorded a radio session for the Janice Long Show at the BBC. Not much later Ollie and Barry left the band and were replaced by Terry Elcock on vocals and Tim Broughton on lead guitar. The sound went into a brighter direction with Terry’s vocals and influence but the guitars were very present nonetheless. This second line-up released the YOUNG SOLDIER 12” in 1986. Both 12”singles, with their different sound and vibe, are known amongst record collectors, fetching high prices when seen for sale.
