Welcome To A New Video Of Exploring Peshawar- Landi kotal Abondoned Railway Line The Peshawar to Torkham/Landi Khana line, famously known as the Khyber Pass Railway, is a 53 km (33 mi) historic, primarily abandoned British-era line (opened 1925) spanning 34 tunnels and 92 bridges. Suspended since 2006 due to flood damage and security concerns, it was once a scenic steam train tourist route connecting Peshawar to the Afghan border. Route: Started at Peshawar City and traditionally ended at Landi Khana (near Torkham), featuring 13 stations. The track is largely dysfunctional, with major flood damage and infrastructure degradation Section Built between 1901 and 1925, it was renowned for its difficult mountainous terrain. Passenger service largely stopped in the 1980s, followed by tourist steam safari suspension in 2006 after floods washed away sections, and regional instability contributed to its abandonment.While there are occasional news items discussing the restoration of this, or building a new, rail link to Afghanistan, the colonial-era track currently remains largely dormant and is a site of historic rather than operational interest.
