Playalong tunes: The Kerfunten

Playalong tunes: country dance and session tunes played at a steady speed for playing along with, in D or G, or with both keys within the tune. When the instrument used is a melodeon, the keyboard is a standard layout in D/G with standard accidentals at the chin end of the keyboard. Videos in this Playalong series may be played on a melodeon, fiddle, tenor banjo (tuned GDAE) or whistle. Widely played in Ireland, The Kerfunten was composed by hightly respected flute player and maker Hammy Hamilton. He apparently named it after a village in Brittany known as Kerfuentuen. It is now also a popular session tune in England.
