Danzón, Arturo Márquez, for Clarinet Quartet

An arrangement for four clarinets of Danzón no2, by Arturo Márquez. We played this piece a few years ago with our windband, and it has stayed in my mind ever since. A piece that tell so many stories, that bring back happy memories, that is at the same time so peaceful yet so joyful! A piece which flows (at least in theory...) from on end to the other without ever slowing down or looking back, a dance I'll remember for a long time! I made this arrangement based on the version for windband, which is in G minor (the original orchestra work is in A minor). Or A minor for my Bb clarinet :-) This version is shorter than the original because, you know, recording without too many mistakes is hard! This is part of a small series of pieces I recorded during the forced musical break of the bands I play in due to COVID... A modest and unpretentious contribution to making the world a little better through music :-) As it turns out, it is actually way more difficult for me to play with my clones than with actual, real-life musicians!
