Mateo David Riveros Meza is in jail, accused of killing Camila Merlo and dumping her remains in a garbage dump in November 2025. According to Carlos Nayi, the victim's family lawyer, the evidence against him "is overwhelming," so the court ordered his pretrial detention, and he will remain charged with aggravated homicide in a context of gender-based violence.
