"The Rumour" was the lead single from Olivia's 1988 album of the same name. Written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, it was produced by Elton with James Newton Howard - and Elton also supplied backing vocals. ONJ delivers a tougher than normal vocal approach to this tune.
