Life on Me - Me, Cinema, and Everything Else is on newsstands starting October 12th and is Gabriele Muccino's first autobiography. The renowned director spares no effort, and in this long interview with Fanpage.it, he discusses how his passion for cinema has saved him ever since his stutter prevented him from feeling at peace with the outside world: "My detractors used to taunt me about being too Muccino-esque, about this impetus I couldn't quell, but on closer inspection, in Scenes from a Marriage, they fight like never before in my films. Even Bergman was a Muccino-esque follower; we all are." His arrival in America with The Pursuit of Happyness, his relationship with Will Smith, and that time he told him, "I'm bored to tears," during a moment of crisis with his wife Jada Pinkett. Muccino also opened up about his breakup with his brother Silvio: "I told him that actors often lose their bearings, because it's a complicated profession that subjects you to constant judgment, so I proposed a pact: if one of us lost his composure at a certain point, the other would have to save him.
