In a 1985 game between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, instead of trying to push the ball down the field and go for an easier field goal or potentially score a touchdown, Eagles head coach Marion Campbell opted to try a long field goal. The kick missed, the Eagles lost in overtime, Philadelphia's chances that season were all but gone, and Campbell was fired before the 1985 season ended.
