SEAN OG'S PUB in Ireland. Check out this amazing old pub in Tralee, County Kerry.

Welcome back to Naked Ireland. So we passed this handsome looking pub in a previous film when we were walking round Tralee and I said we’ll take a closer look in another video, so here we go, but check our that film on Tralee town too if that might be of interest to you. A lot of work goes into these videos as you can well see! You can now buy me a pint as a means of appreciation for my work on Naked Ireland, no obligation, obviously - only if you can afford it... I appreciate it. Cheers. https://www.buymeacoffee.com/nakedire... So, a lovely facade on this pub in Bridge Street, it really invites you in. Not that I particularly need an invitation. I see they’ve the auld Stars and Stripes on show there too - that’ll please you American people watching. So in we go to sample to delights of Sean Og’s. It’s a typical old Irish bar front. It the old days it probably would have sold groceries and basic food items, alongside pints. It’s quiet as you’d expect during the day, but there’s still a nice roaring open fire, which immediately sets the ambience. This pub functions as a bed and breakfast as well, so if you like it, you could come and stay here. It offers 3 star accommodation, and maybe stopping in a wee place like this might be less sterile and a bit more craic than forking out for a hotel? You could prop up the bar of an afternoon and have a bit of an auld chat with the barman or the locals if that appeals to you. And it’s not just the old traditional bar that’s on offer here. There’s a whole section towards the back which offers plenty more room, and reflects what a popular place this is in the summer evenings. You can imagine this place being ram packed during the Rose of Tralee festival. Not sure if that’s worth aiming for or avoiding - I guess it depends on how you handle crowds? Anyway that happens on the 3rd or 4th weekend in August - as if this pub wouldn’t be busy enough during the holiday period. For a bit of privacy, there’s also little snugs where you can escape the other 4 thousand people in the bar at the end of Aug. Actually these are great if you’re with a big group of people and can take over the whole snug. The only problem then will be fighting your way to the bar. But of course all these wee bars will serve you a great pint, and that’s the essential element if you’re dropping in for a quiet daytime tipple. Again, for you the Americans watching, you might recognise a picture of a certain family on the wall? Being in the pub during the day allows you to check out the artefacts and memorabilia on the walls. Inevitably, there’s always sporting stuff - usually GAA, If you’re a sports fan, particularly a fan of Irish sports, you’ll find all this stuff of real interest.
