Yesterday we have count seven feedings. 3 food deliveries by Meja. All feedings she was behaving normally They brought large quantities of food, even though there was extremely heavy rain until 11:26. She is still not quite her old self, but she is doing significantly better. Now we have to keep watching how things develop. A brief tap on the storklets head with the beak is normal; they do it when the little ones get too rough. Feeding times can be very painful and dangerous for the parents. According to the information available to Māris Strazds , the black stork nesting area here has been known since at least 2003, however, this nest was only found in January 2021. The nest may have been built in 2010 after the previous nest was abandoned. In the previous nest in this area, one of the adult birds was ringed. 📌 2021 there were no chicks, in nest 📌 2022 three young birds were successfully hatched. 📌 2022 both nesting adult birds were ring less. 📌 2023 there were no chicks. Adults were ring less 📌 2024 Urga and Ogris raised 4 healthy chicks. All were ringed. The parents are without rings 📌 2025 two adult on nest.
