Extrema Ratio Sethlans Field Review. I took my new Extrema Ratio Sethlans out for a spin over a period of 5 days for general camping and hiking. The Sethlans is a departure from the regular military type blades we come to expect from Extrema Ratio. Many have wanted or expected a more of a "bushcraft" type knife from them. Something with an acute spine edge to strike a steel, kit which reflects the bushcraft scene. Ok, they have answered this with a classic drop point but sporting the Extrema Ratio ergonomics and inclusion of quality accessories such as a largish fire steel (albeit not as ginormous as the included one for the TASK J) and a quality high grit ceramic stone and diamond plate. The Extrema Ratio Sethlans is wrapped up in well made (it's no surprise) Kydex and high denier nylon carry system. One malice strap holds on a small pouch which contains the sharpening stone and it goes without saying the whole thing can be pulled apart in order to configure it for lefthand carry or indeed (with optional parts) carry it horizontally. The knife is strong (see my blog where I demonstrate this), super sharp and of course very comfortable.
