Today I prepared a traditional Ugandan feast for my German in-laws, and it was such a special experience sharing a part of my culture through food. On the menu were pilau, samosas, chapati, beans, gonja (plantain), matooke, groundnut stew with fish, groundnut stew without fish (odi), and Irish potato balls. Watching everyone enjoy these dishes and spend time together reminded me how food can bring different cultures together.
