Thank you for watching ♡ My second child was born safely! 👶🏼 My first child's labor was quite long, so to ensure a smoother labor this time, I walked constantly throughout my pregnancy (after getting the OK from my doctor). I was able to give birth about an hour after getting on the delivery table!! 🤰🏼Things I paid attention to during labor🤰🏼 ① Rocking/Moving I tried to rock my body as much as possible between contractions and during the pain waves. Staying still in the same position seems to slow labor down and make the pain more intense. Gently moving my pelvis helped the baby descend more easily and matched the rhythm of the contractions. I recommend rocking along with your breathing, with the idea that "moving = helping labor." ⸻ ② Staying hydrated and taking in calories Long labor requires more energy than you might imagine. I made sure to drink fluids frequently, one sip at a time, before I got thirsty. I heard that gradually replenishing calories with jelly drinks or candy helps prevent energy loss and makes it easier to push hard during the final push, so I paid close attention to this. I realized that "maintaining physical strength = maintaining the strength to get through labor." ⸻ ③ Going to the bathroom frequently Apparently, a distended bladder during labor makes it harder for the baby's head to drop. I tried to go to the bathroom whenever I felt the slightest urge to urinate. Apparently, going to the bathroom changes your posture, which can ultimately help labor progress. When I think of it as "making way for the baby," going to the bathroom doesn't seem so bad. ⸻ ④ Warm your body During labor, tension and pain can easily cause your body to get cold. Apparently, warming your lower back and feet in particular improves blood flow and smooths uterine contractions. Even when it was hot, I endured the heat and made efforts to "stay warm" by wearing socks and other "efforts to stay warm." Warming up is an important step, as it prepares you to relax.
