Only in the ‘80s and ‘90s could a TV executive watch a violent rated R film and think, “Hey, this is perfect for children!” Such was the case for the cartoons in today’s episode. From death-dealing war veterans to gun-toting robot cops, these cartoons took characters that were clearly meant to be appreciated by adults and marketed them instead to children in the form of animated series and in many cases toy lines as well!
